Most of what we have been taught about who we are includes ideas that were imposed on us, rather than self-concepts that came from our own reflections about our gifts, ideals, talents, and aspirations. At The Healing Center, we believe that everyone already has what they need internally to be healthy, but the stories and the experiences of life create a separation from our very self so that we wander around, deeply yearning to know who we are and where we belong in the universe.
Our clinicians use contemporary, evidence-based, effective strategies to help our clients navigate blocks to their own personal flourishing in a way that honors their individuality within their community. We are of the opinion that we are meant to live in harmony with others, with Nature, and having a relationship to the Divine. At The Healing Center, we help you find that relationship with your inner and outer worlds have consistency and harmony.
By nature, we are social creatures that thrive in connecting with the world around us as well as with each other. Through healthy connection, we can understand our own emotions, convey our thoughts and needs clearly to those around us.
Is a means to process the world in a way that is not confined by rules or societal expectations. Through this open hearted curiousity, we can reconstruct a more genuine connect to the world and those around us that portrays our truer self.
Resiliency is key in maintaining a sense of playfulness and connection. The journey of life is full of challenges but through this endeavor it will be a fruitful and rewarding experience.

A child's natural means of self expression is through play as verbal communication is a learned skill set that takes time to flourish. Through play therapy, we learn more about their own perspective and opinions and can offer different ways of communicating their needs or wants in a verbal format which in turn aids their autonomy.

In a similar way to play therapy for children, play therapy for adults offers an adult the opportunity to revisit the world through the lense of playfulness and curiousity. In this way we honor their child part and provide a reconnection to nature and others.
